Again Live-Blues-Power on Brambus Records: ANDY EGERT and his blues band are one of the most appearing live-bands of Switzerland and has got a high reputation during the last ten years. After three studio albums, the band now celebrates its 10th anniversary with a strong and dynamic live-album, presenting blues at its best and in the tradition of their great heroes Eric Clapton, Freddie, Albert und B.B. King, Alvin Lee, Jimi Hendrix and also Robert Johnson!

The powerful blues and the dynamic live show of the band has got great reviews, also on same stages with Stan Webb’s Chicken Shack, Steve Marriott, Bernard Allison, Dave Baker, Mick Clarke and Louisiana Red! The line-up of the Andy Egert Blues Band currently has the bandleader in the middle and Robi Karmann (bass) and Michi Stulz (drums), both best known from their work with the longestablished Lazy Poker Blues Band.

Ten songs with more than one hour playing time have been recorded, mostly dynamic blues power with some well known titles penned by Robert Johnson, Jimi Hendrix and others, but also including some not less faszinating original compositions by Andy Egert.

Nach Toni Spearman nochmals ein feiner, virtuoser Blueswurf bei Brambus: ANDY EGERT hat sich für sein zweites Album bei Brambus viel Zeit gelassen und die richtigen Songs ausgesucht. „Fire On The Crossroad“ präsentiert den Gitarrenblueser auf brilliante Weise und reiht ihn in die Reihen der Grossen im internationalen Bluesgeschehen.

Hauptsächlich beeinflusst vom Chicago & British Blues überzeugt Andy Egert (voc., git., bluesharp) in der klassischen Triobesetzung mit Martin Stoffner (dr.) und Robi Schweizer (b) mit mitreissend arrangierten Nummern eines Johnny „Guitar“ Watson, Robert Johnson, Alvin Lee oder J.B. Lenoir, aber auch mit eigenen Nummern, die er zusammen mit dem „Endless-Avenue“-Songwriter Ernst Eggenberger schrieb. Die Bandbesetzung gewinnt aber noch zusätzlich durch das Mittun des superben Tosho Yakkatokuo (dr.) und des bald schon legendären Bassisten Bob Stroger aus dem Herzen der Chicago-Szene. Letzterer ist auch oft auf den Tourneen der Andy Egert Blues Band mit von der Partie. Zur Veröffentlichung der CD hat die Band auch wieder eine umfangreiche Tournee durch Mitteleuropa bereit.

After the exiting release of Toni Spearman on brambus, here is allready another blues master piece. Andy Egert has taken a lot of time to work on his second CD for brambus and to pick the right songs – and he did! “Fire On The Crossroad” presents him again as outstanding guitar blues artist in its best way and he confirms his position as one of the leading blues artists in Europe.

Mainly influenced by the best Chicago & British Blues tradition, Andy Egert (voc., git.., bluesharp) works in the classical trio line-up with Martin Stoffner (dr.) and Robi Schweizer (b) and covers fascinating classics of Johnny “Guitar” Watson, Robert Johnson, Alvin Lee or J.B. Lenoir, but also presents some self penned songs, which he wrote together with the “Endless-Avenue”-songwriter Ernst Eggenberger. The band line-up gains additional attention by the help of such superb artists like drummer Tosho Yakkatokuo (dr.) and the legendary bass player Bob Stroger, who comes out of the heart of the Chicago scene. Andy Egert is the most active Swiss blues artist – and this since many years. His live performance is outstanding and in the best trio blues tradition and can be heard usually more than 100 times every year! The live atmosphere has been caught for this live CD during several days of performing at the “Badenerfahrt” in Baden/Switzerland.
