Das Eliane Cueni/Gitta Kahle Quintett hat sich 1992 formiert und spielte seither zahlreiche Tourneen in der Schweiz, Deutschland und der Tschechoslowakei. Nach ihrem Debutalbum Over There (1994) und dem Folgewerk A Timeless Place erscheint nun das dritte Werk des Quintetts. Im Gegensatz zu den ersten zwei stimmigen CDs hat sich die Band zu moderneren Grooves und offeneren Formen hin entwickelt, tragend sind aber immer noch schöne Melodien und warme Moods. Der neu dazugestossene Gitarrist Stephen Magnusson ist mit seinem hervorragenden und intuitiven Spiel eine weitere Bereicherung der Formation. Im Mittelpunkt stehen aber die beiden Frontfrauen. Pianistin Eliane Cueni, bekannt bereits aus zahlreichen Produktionen und wohl die führende Jazzpianistin der Schweiz. Von ihr stammen zudem sämtliche eingespielten Kompsitionen des Werks. Als wunderbare Ergänzung kommen die Saxophonklänge von Gitta Kahle dazu. Mit der Rhythmusgruppe Lukas Bitterlin (Drums) und Björn Meyer (Bass) vervollständigt sich das spannende Quintett.

The outstanding quintet was founded in 1992 and played many tours through Switzerland, Germany and the Czech Republic since. After the debut CD Over There in 1994 and the follow up CD A Timeless Place the new productions in the third recording of the quintet and against the work of the earlier two, smoother CDs, the band tends towards modern grooves and more open styles on the new masterpiece. Still in the middle are the beautiful melodies and warm moods! The new addiotion of guitar player Stephen Magnusson in the band with his intuitiv and outstanding play is one of the most remarkable addition. But still in the middle are the two front women, pianoplayer Elane Cueni, very well known in Switzerland with numberous releases and the leading female jazz piano player of Switzerland. All the compositions on the new album have been penned by herself. The fantastic saxophon sounds of Gitta Kahle are the ideal addition to the piano work and the rhythm group with Lukas Bitterlin (drums) and Björn Meyer (bass) match perfectly in this remarkable quintet.
