Fellwoship Beat, das Trio um den zurzeit in den USA lebenden E-Bassisten Beat Gisler, spielt modernen Jazz vom Feinsten. Die äusserst interessante musikalische Reise durch ihr Reper-toire ist von asiatischen Skalen wie auch von ungeraden Taktarten stark geprägt. Ebenso finden aber auch Bebop- Modale- und freie Elemente Eingang in ihre subtil arrangierten Komposi-tionen, mit viel Freiraum für die Solisten. Die meisten Stücke von Fellwoship Beat sind Werke des versierten Pianisten Bruno Steffen. Mit Jazz-Formationen wie Steffen-Althaus Quartet, Racine-Steffen Group und HV-West wurde er mit seinen Kompositionen schon vor Jahren weit über die Landesgrenzen hinaus bekannt und zeigt sich mit Fellwoship Beat erneut von einer ganz neuen Seite. Am Schlagzeug sitzt Olaf Ryter, ein Multistilist wie auch Beat Gisler selbst. Die Beiden bilden ein optimales Rhythmus-Team und verstehen es, nicht zuletzt durch ihre grossen Erfahrungen in den verschiedensten Musikstilrichtungen (von Heavy-Metal bis Pop und Jazz), der Musik von Fellwoship Beat den nötigen Drive zu verleihen. Dieses Trio ist anders und im wahrsten Sinne eine Band, welche nicht nur durch individuelles, technisches Können sondern auch durch Interplay auf hohem Niveau brilliert. Fellwoship Beat is an excellent jazztrio formed around the electrobassist Beat Gisler, who currently has his residence in the USA. The very interesting musical journey through their repertoire reaches from asiatic scales to uneven beats. But also bebop-, modale- und free elements find enough space in their subtil arranged compositions with a lot of space for improvisations of each artist. Most of the tracks of Fellwoship Beat have been composed by the reknown pianoplayer Bruno Steffen. With groups as the Steffen-Atlahus Quartet, the Racine-Steffen-Group or HV-West has he build a recognition, which goes far beyond the national borders. And he shows a new side of his creativity with this band. With Olaf Ryter on the drums, the band has another multistilist as Beat Gisler in the line-up. Both unite as an optimized rhythmn duo and understand very well to give the needed drive to the music of Fellwoship Beat. Nevertheless, they learned in all styles from heavy-metal to pop and jazz! The trio is different and in the meaning of the word a band, which not only surprises by the individual technique of each artist but also through an interplay on highest level.
