Martin Richard Lehner's band "Xing To" presented their debut CD "Xing To" in 1994 and surprised everyone with a wide expression of jazz, including some steel drums, which was very unusual for a Swiss jazz group. In the past three years, the band reduced the line and grew in qualitiy and expression. their jazz is still very accessible and has a much clearer line, in which Martin Richard Lehner's trombone is centered and in which the percussion has a much stronger place. The album has a sensitive latin touch, going back to the work of Cuban drummer Julio Barreto, and the percussionist Willy Kotoun.
The line-up on their latest recording is completed by pianist Marcel Schefer and bass player Rätus Flisch. The quintent, which has performed on innumerable jazz productions, occassionally with world-renowned artists, demonstrating Brambus' Records outstanding position in the field of "young" Swiss jazz of international top-quality. Martin Richard Lehner's second CD, "Yellow" is a very grown-up production that stands against all international top releases of the day.
